Job Search Preparation Resources

Resume Building, By Appointment
Learn the basics for developing an effective resume through a one-on-one appointment with a WorkSource – Career Center Partner. Participation is by appointment only.

Please reserve your slot through the WorkSource front desk by calling (206) 764-5304 or coming to RSB # 79. You will need to check-in at the front desk 5 - 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

Please remember to bring information regarding your work history with you to your appointment. Some information you will want to collect is:

  • previous and present employer names
  • address of previous employer
  • job title
  • dates worked
  • key job functions performed
  • skills list

Don’t forget to bring your disk or thumb drive with you for saving your resume!

  • We have computers, phone, fax and copy machine for use in your job search
  • We have a career library with resume, cover letter and job search resources including books, video and audio tapes
  • Utilize our software and internet sites to assess your skills, practice interviewing, compose cover letters and create resumes

One tool you could use is Glassdoor.com. Their web site gives you an inside look at company salaries, reviews, and interview questions for thousands of companies.
