The process
of identifying a career that is a good fit does not come easily for
most people. For many it is necessary to revisit the career exploration
process several times during our working lives.
Career Development Services has a number of resources that may be
helpful.
Vocational Testing On-line
Vocational tests do not provide answers, however, they may be an excellent
way to open the conversation of which direction to pursue. They may
also reconfirm what you know to be true about yourself.
For a fee of $30 each for students and $100 for non-students, the
Myers Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory can
be taken on-line. The fee includes one hour of career counseling/interpretation

There are a number of software systems designed to help you ask the
important questions that may lead you to a career direction. Two possibilities
are:
Do the self-assessment portion of SIGI Plus and
come up with a list of your essential values and primary interests.
Use Dependable Strengths to find recurring themes
in your life that may give you a clue about a career direction.
On-line Tools
There are many on-line tools that can help with the process of career
exploration. These are three favorites that are comprehensive in the
